Initiator's Profile

Shelly Otasowie Ibadin, a native of Nigeria, is the visionary founder of The Horizon Foundation for Seniors (DHFS). She earned her medical degree (MBBS) from the University of Benin in Benin City, Nigeria, and later pursued a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, USA.

Shelly’s passion for supporting the elderly stems from her childhood, where she always sought to bring happiness and satisfaction to seniors’ lives.

Shelly’s experience in geriatric care is extensive. She previously worked in the Geriatric Ward at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. Additionally, she has volunteered her services to support the elderly population on multiple occasions, both in Nigeria and the United States.

A committed researcher and writer, Shelly has authored and published several papers and articles on topics related to geriatric care. Currently, she resides in the United States, where she continues to pursue her passion for supporting the elderly community. Her mission is to empower elderly individuals to age with dignity, purpose, and fulfillment. The Horizon Foundation for Seniors aims to eradicate poverty and provide them with the necessary support to age gracefully.
